I created this page in 2017 to track the countries I’ve visited. I have since added US states and Canadian provinces. My Geocaching statistics do a pretty good job of tracking this, but I haven’t found a geocache in every country I’ve visited, and I’ve found geocaches while in transit through countries (i.e. I haven’t truly visited). Although I do not count transiting through as a “visit”, I still like to track these.

I use two criteria on this page:

• If I have visited a country/state/province, it means I: a. Spent at least several hours sightseeing, b. Passed immigration (where applicable), and c. Left the airport/train/bus/station (where applicable).
• If I passed through a country/state/province, it means I was on the soil of the country/state/province or transited through, but didn’t really visit. This means that layovers count, even if I don’t leave the airport or technically “enter” the country through immigration control
